Blog #2 post Balance or Burnout
Alright, so with most classes that require a group project, I
try to do some type of research and put it together hoping for the best. Unfortunately,
I find myself most of the time finding things to do, well the only problem is I
am not doing the job I am supposed to be doing. We all know procrastination tends
to lead to anxiety and well we all know the rollercoaster of a ride that
becomes.
This group project I found to be quite fun if I may say. I
personally felt like everyone brought out some hard-hitting information good
points that really stuck. Some intense topics and some sensitive ones but you
know, there’s always a message to be delivered. “Three things that cannot be hidden
are the sun the moon and the truth. “Buddha.
We all know social life and mental health go hand in hand.
You know that feeling when you are not all there and you just don’t want to be bothered,
and you pull away. Having good friends or a partner, even family members to
support you and help you uplift you when you are down are extremely important.
They can help you cope through difficult times; help you deal better with
different levels of stress. Having a strong team behind you can help you deal
with anxiety and even depression.
We have all been there and honestly it seems to reach us when
we least expect it. And sometimes we feel like we must deal with it all on our
own. We Don’t! There are many hotline umbers out here there offer support for
any types of struggles you are having. There are even ways to access help
through means of text messaging for those who don’t like to speak to others.
I found myself really involved with my part with the
presentation as I felt a connection with the topic. You see at the time I’m
dealing with some life-changing scenarios now and quite frankly it has been extremely
depressing how you view it.
You see I had a slip and fall injury at work and what
started as pain in my back and knee, turned into 2 years of recovery. Physical therapy
and procedures trying to improve my situation I felt like there was no end. I
have had to change the way I work and proceed with things until I can fully get
healthy. Now it has all changed, and it takes time to just change and the way you
have been accustomed to working.
The truth is, taking care of your mental health doesn’t mean
your week honestly, I know now it shows strength. Letting people in might help.
Even just the tiniest bit of allowing someone in could help you with what you are
going through.
When you are mentally strong you can take on whatever comes
at you. And at that point you are ready to figure out what you want to do, and where
you want to go in life.
Group one brought up a very important top which included career
development and the economy. This is a very important topic as it dives into being
able to adapt to the workforce around us. It’s difficult out in the work environment
it can be fast paced and hectic. The beautiful thing is that it is constantly evolving
and changing with the times.
They touched on real life happenings and how you know
sometimes people draw the short stick in unfair circumstances. Being able to
adjust to what is going on with the outside world is quite important and could
be key to being able to succeed.
The second group was able to deliver the message on how we
have outside factors that can help us succeed. They were able to dive into
things often not spoken. They talked about how early on we are affected by the environment
around us.
They gave detailed information especially over the past 5
years with the progress that’s has been made both negative and positive. The description
of how there was too much screen time being involved and less face-to-face interaction
was a good point. How the government helps with aids to provide means of
education and different programs that could provide housing for families as
well.
Let’s be honest, the fact that they gave ways they believed how
things could improve as well as giving examples of the areas they could improve
would be appreciated by many. Overall, I feel like this group doves into solutions
for the current issues not just stating them.
